Most of the trees we take out here nobody ever planted. Volunteer mesquite and palo verde come up on their own — in the gravel, along the fence line, right against the foundation, in the middle of where the driveway is supposed to go — and if the lot went a few seasons without attention they are not saplings anymore, they are trees with real trunks in genuinely bad places. Add to that the palms that outgrew the house and the trees that finally gave out in a dry year, and there is usually more than one on the list. We take them down, cut in sections where anything is close to a structure, grind or dig stumps where the equipment can reach, and load and haul the whole lot off the property.
Because these are open parcels, the removal itself is often the easy part and the volume is the real one. Three or four volunteer mesquites is a serious amount of material once it is on the ground, and where it goes matters as much as how it comes down. It all leaves on the trailer. Nothing gets piled at the back of the lot to become next year's problem.
